Emergency medical technicians and paramedics
The Northwell Health Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI) offers training programs for both emergency medical technicians and paramedics. The Emergency Medical Institute and the Bioskills Education Center operate under the CLI and provide students an exceptional hands-on educational experience. Through CEMS, students work side by side with Northwell medical staff for 911 and interfacility ambulance tours.
SkyHealth
Our SkyHealth team undergoes continuous training at the CLI’s Emergency Medical Institute and Bioskills Education Center. This comprehensive training includes simulations and clinical rotations in trauma for adults and pediatric patients. Additionally, our entire flight team undergoes rigorous flight safety training, night vision goggle training, crew resource management training and scene flight training.
SkyHealth pilots and mechanics, trained by Med-Trans, have an extensive aviation background with the U.S. military, law enforcement or Federal Aviation Administration. All pilots have extensive in-flight training and experience, and some serve as instructor pilots, teaching and maintaining aviation industry standards. Med-Trans also requires all pilots to undergo quarterly in-flight reviews, a safety standard few companies conduct.
