What is heartburn and reflux disease?
Heartburn and reflux disease, also known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), is a common condition that occurs when stomach acid repeatedly backs up, or refluxes, into the esophagus. Symptoms may vary and range from mild to severe. They include:
