The facility brings care in cardiology, urology, and other fields to western Queens

Northwell Health today announced the opening of a $5.1 million, 8,500-square-foot multispecialty practice in Queens. Northwell Health Physician Partners at Glendale, located at 80-40 Cooper Ave. in Glendale, features several surgical specialties as well as offices for behavioral health, cardiology, endocrinology, primary care, pulmonary medicine and urology.

The ambulatory practice gives Queens residents more healthcare options and supports existing programs at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills and the health system’s recently opened Northwell Health Cancer Institute at Rego Park. In 2023, Northwell’s STARS Rehabilitation debuted inside the same building in Glendale. Northwell is New York State’s largest health care provider with more than 900 outpatient facilities.

“Northwell Health Physician Partners has made the investment in Queens a priority and that’s been made clear by our expanding range of health care services and medical specialists in the region,” said Mark Talamini, MD, senior vice president and executive director of Northwell Health Physician Partners. “We want to be where people live and work to make access to care and the delivery of quality medical services as seamless as possible.”

The new space, housed in The Shops at Atlas Park, has 16 exam rooms, including a procedure room, as well as the ability to perform ultrasounds and echocardiogram/stress tests. There is an onsite clinical laboratory for point-of-care testing. The practice has 10 physicians and 27 support staff.

Glendale will see patients six days a week. In addition to offering surgical support for the new cancer center in Rego Park, Glendale includes specialists in colorectal surgery, general surgery, otolaryngology surgery and vascular surgery.

“In order to empower ever healthier communities, it’s important that Northwell provides a range of complex care beyond the walls of our hospitals,” said John D’Angelo, MD, senior vice president and regional executive director of Northwell’s Central region. “We have a long history of service to Queens and we’re doing even more in Glendale by bringing ENTs, cardiologists and surgeons to the local community.”
