Head & neck surgery

A premier center for head and neck surgery
Our nationally recognized surgeons specialize in the management and treatment of tumors in the head and neck. From diagnosis through treatment and rehabilitation, our dedicated team is here to offer personalized care—every step of the way.

Overview

The surgeons of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery are key members of the oncology team of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute. Our nationally recognized surgeons have specific training and expertise in the surgical management of a wide range of cancerous and noncancerous tumors of the oral cavity (mouth), larynx (voice box), pharynx (throat), skull base and paranasal sinuses, salivary glands, thyroid and parathyroid glands, as well as advanced or complicated tumors of the head and neck skin.

Because every tumor diagnosis is unique, our coordinated team works to create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. As part of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute’s Center for Head and Neck Oncology, we work closely with a large team of physicians and specialists who are solely dedicated to the management, rehabilitation and survivorship of patients with head and neck tumors. They include:

  • Head and neck surgeons and robotic surgeons
  • Reconstructive and microvascular surgeons
  • Oral and maxillofacial surgeons
  • Oral and maxillofacial prosthodontists
  • Radiation oncologists
  • Medical oncologists
  • Endocrinologists
  • Neurosurgeons
  • Endoscopic sinus and skull base surgeons
  • Thoracic surgeons
  • Basic science researchers
  • Speech and swallowing therapists
  • Physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians
  • Patient nurse navigators
  • Social workers
  • Head and neck radiologists
  • Nutritionists
  • Psychologists

From diagnosis through treatment and follow-up, you are in the capable hands of some of the nation’s top head and neck tumor experts. Our compassionate team understands the uncertainty that often comes with a new diagnosis and changes to quality of life after treatment. We offer many helpful resources for patients and their families, including support groups and individual counseling as well as physical therapy and nutritional planning.
