Ergonomic services
Our The American Posture Institute-certified ergonomic specialists at the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) provide education, evaluation and training for both injury recovery and prevention:
- Return-to-work (after physical therapy and/or medical procedures): Once cleared by a physician to go back to normal activities, it is critical to avoid repeating strains, stresses, and further injuries. Having a better workstation set-up and postural awareness while performing necessary tasks will help.
- Ergo-safety training: This training helps minimize injury occurrence in occupational settings. We provide postural and workstation assessments, evaluation, education, and recommendations on improving health and productivity—which can be done before an injury or illness even occurs.
What to expect
This evaluation includes postural and workstation assessments, and recommendations on improving health and productivity. We’ll suggest different ways to perform job tasks, recommend changing desks, chairs, or other elements to improve ergonomics. We’ll help you to better understand risk factors associated with injuries and provide training to reduce injuries in office and industrial settings. We can design a personalized program, based on your needs, if you experience any type of discomfort during or after performing work activities.
